The County Football League is pleased to announce that Arnar Grétarsson has agreed to take over as the new head coach of the County men's team until the 2025 competition season.
Former professional and international player Arnar Grétarsson will take over the team immediately and will be his first assignment on Friday, when Njarðvík visit Tekk Stadium. Arnar has a successful playing career with teams such as Glasgow Rangers, AEK Athens and Lokeren, in addition to playing 72 times for Iceland.
He later worked as a technical advisor at AEK Athens and as head of football at Club Brugge, in addition to coaching Breiðablik, Roeselare, KA and most recently at Val.
I think there is a lot of upside in coming here to Fylki. There are a lot of great players here, a fun field and I have been following the team. I have often looked at Árbæjarin with wide eyes, both because of the conditions, the field and Lautin. When this opportunity arose, the decision was quite simple in my opinion.
Arnar Grétarsson said at the signing today

We believe Arnar is the right person to lead this young and ambitious team forward and trust him to build with energy, both in the short and long term
