The City of Reykjavík and Íþaka Real Estate Company signed a new agreement today for the Fylkisselíð in Norðlingaholt. The Fylkisselíð currently houses the facilities of the Fylki gymnastics department, karate department and e-sports department.
The agreement includes, among other things, an expansion of the building, which will greatly improve the facilities for practitioners, coaches and staff. Facilities for spectators, which are currently limited, will also be significantly improved.
This is great news for the activities at the County Hall. In addition to the aforementioned sports clubs, the work of Betri Borgari Fylkis is carried out there, where over 200 people of prime age come together three times a week for physical exercise.
Construction on the expansion will begin this summer and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.
