New year, presentations and the football league's general meeting on Wednesday
Sigfús Örn Guðmundsson • October 28, 2024

The annual County herring party before the boys' last home game on October 20th was well attended and went very well. We thank those who attended. Our men then played their last game of the season in beautiful conditions in Ísafjörður last Saturday, where a strong performance from the team resulted in a comfortable 1-3 victory.

This officially ended the 2024 season and, as previously mentioned, a new working year has already begun and preparations for the upcoming season are beginning in earnest.

A meeting is scheduled for next Wednesday evening where the newly appointed coaches of the County's championship teams, Árni Freyr Guðnason and Bjarni Þórður Halldórsson, will introduce themselves, discuss next steps and answer questions from the audience. Sigurður Þór Reynisson, head coach of the softball division, and Steinar Leó Gunnarsson, head coach of the junior teams, will also be present and are ready to take questions from the audience as needed.

Location: County Hall.

Time: 7:30 PM, Wednesday, October 30th.

Meeting agenda:

  • Traditional activities of the annual meeting of the County Football League. It is recalled that according to the Football League regulations and the club's laws, the main purpose of the meeting is to elect the league's board and the meeting is then postponed until the spring of next year. Five individuals have announced their candidacy for the board: Ragnar Páll Bjarnason (chairman), Edda Sif Sigurðardóttir, Haraldur Úlfarsson, Hjördís Jóhannesdóttir and Valur Ragnarsson.
  • Bjarni Þórður Halldórsson, coach of the women's championship team
  • Árni Freyr Guðnason, coach of the men's championship team

Coffee and light refreshments will be served during the meeting and the estimated meeting time is about one hour.

We urge all County staff to attend the meeting, meet our coaches and make their voices heard. A new working year has begun and we intend to roll up our sleeves and continue the work of the County Football Department with full force.

Let's remember: JOY, RESPECT, AMBITIOUSNESS!

Forward, Counties,

Football League Board
