Fylkir has signed a contract with Bjarni Þórður Halldórsson to take over as head coach of the Fylkir women's team.
Bjarni Þórður is well known to the Fylkis fans, having played a number of games for the club and having been involved in coaching all levels for many years, most recently as the goalkeeping coach for the women's championship team at the club. Bjarni Þórður is also a native of Árbængur and a Fylkis man through and through.
We at the club have high expectations for the collaboration with Bjarni Þórður and look forward to working with him on the continued progress of women's football at Fylkir.
At the same time, Fylkir would like to thank Gunnar Magnús Jónsson for his good work at Fylkir during the two years he was with us as the coach of the women's championship team. We thank him for his contribution to Fylkir and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
