Stricter quarantine measures come into effect
Hordur • October 7, 2020

Due to the uncertainty that has arisen today regarding training, we would like to announce the following.

Uniform rules and guidelines are awaited from the sports leadership and are expected soon. While the situation is like this, individual practices may be canceled and coaches will inform you of this.

Regarding the club's sports activities, the following rules issued by the Minister of Health apply. The rules are valid until October 19th

  • 2-meter social distancing: The social distancing will be 2 meters. This also applies to all schools, with the exception of children born in 2005 and later.
  • Sports activities for children born in 2005 and later are All training for this age will therefore be in the same format. We therefore direct parents to have their children arrive as prepared as possible. We will reduce common contact surfaces. This applies to both indoor and outdoor training.
  • Traditional indoor sports activities for athletes born in 2004 and older are cancelled and coaches will be in contact with their groups about the work in the coming days and weeks. This includes training for 16 years and older in handball, gymnastics, karate, e-sports and volleyball.
  • Outdoor soccer training can take place in the traditional manner.
  • In terms of competitive events, all competitions are prohibited for athletes born in 2005 and younger as there is a risk of group mixing beyond traditional training sessions.
  • Outdoor soccer competitions are permitted for players born in 2004 and older.
  • Proximity and number limits: As before, proximity and number limits do not apply to children born in 2005 and later.
  • Outdoor sports: Outdoor sports are permitted, but spectators at outdoor sporting events should not exceed 20 in each space. Spectators must wear masks and sit in marked seats. For events at Fylkir, please seek information about the event in question as some events will be held without spectators.
  • It should be noted, however, that individual practices may be canceled in the coming days due to this situation, and the group coaches will then notify the practitioners.

The club therefore directs parents and supporters not to enter the club's sports facilities unless absolutely necessary. Please contact us by phone or email ( fylkir@fylkir.is) regarding urgent matters.

It is extremely important that we all participate in this together and do our part.
