Stefán Gísli Stefánsson, a player for Fylkis, has been on trial in Belgium at Westerlo and at Pafos in Cyprus at the beginning of the year. Stefán played games with Westerlo's U21 and U23 teams last week but has now moved to Cyprus.
KVC Westerlo plays in the top division in Belgium where the team finished in 11th place last season but is currently in 13th place. Pafos FC plays in the top division in Cyprus where the team finished in 5th place last season but is currently in 2nd place in the league.
Stefán Gísli, who turns 19 this year, is a midfielder by nature but has played mostly as a right back for the past two years. Stefán has played 22 games and scored 1 goal for the Icelandic championship team and has played 17 international matches for the Icelandic junior national team.
We look forward to following Stefán Gísli and are delighted that our players will be able to shine abroad.
