On Friday, December 20th, awards were presented to the County's athletes in 2024. The club's medals of honor were also presented.

The 2024 State Athletes were Davíð Þór Bjarnason from the gymnastics department and Karen Thuy Duong Vu from the karate department.

 

Sportsman of the Year 2024

David Thor Bjarnason Gymnastics

Davíð was selected for the youth national team this year 2024 and he competed at the Nordic Championships in Helsinki. He has won numerous awards in recent years at different tournaments. Davíð is on the youth national team of Iceland and is well on his way to being selected to participate in an international competition. He is not only a great athlete but he also coaches the younger practitioners of the league.

Karen Thuy Duong Vu Karate

Karen has achieved great success this year, including:.

1st place at the Reykjavík International Games
1st place at the Copenhagen Open
1st place at the Icelandic Adult Championship
2nd place at the Nordic Championship

The company's badge of honor

The company's honorary medals are awarded to those who have done good work for the company, both volunteers and paid employees.

The Silver Medal of the County, the Gold Medal of the County and the County Cross, which is the highest honor of the society, were awarded. Only 20 individuals may wear the Society's Cross of Honor at any one time.

Árni Leó Þórðarson  has done a great job for the club in recent years and has participated in many projects such as organizing football matches during the summer.

David Patchell,  head coach of the County Basketball League and a major player in the league's rebuilding

Hulda Björk Brynjarsdóttir,  chairwoman of the County Basketball League. Has done great things with the league's work as well as being involved in other projects within the club

Kristófer Gísli Hilmarsson,  coach at the County Gymnastics Department. Has worked part-time within the department in recent years.

Elvar Örn Þórisson has worked for football and basketball for years and has taken on many important projects with great success.

The County Cross

Oscar Sigurdsson

Óskar participated in the establishment of the Fylki football league and became the league's first chairman. He was also the first coach of the club's men's championship team in 1972 and 1973.
