Rebekka Rut Harðardóttir and Birna Kristín Eiríksdóttir have extended their contracts with Fylkir for two years.
Rebekka Rut was raised in Árbæn and has played through all the club's youth teams. Rebekka, who will be twenty next year, is a promising goalkeeper with 11 appearances for the county's championship team. She will now be given a bigger role after Tinna Brár Magnúsdóttir's departure and it will be very exciting to watch her next summer.
Birna Kristín, who is also a seasoned player, will be 25 next year. She has played 57 games and scored 6 goals for Fylkir in all competitions, but Birna's first game for the club was in the Pepsi League in 2016. She has also played for Haukar and Fram, where she played on loan last season. It is very pleasing to see that Birna remains loyal to Fylkir despite the interest of many other teams.
