Icelandic Football 2024
Kristján Gylfi • December 17, 2024

The book Icelandic Football 2024 has been published. This is the 44th year that the book has been published, but it has been published continuously since 1981. Sögur Publishing publishes the book, which is larger than ever before, 304 pages in a large format and decorated with around 450 photos of players and teams.

The book provides detailed coverage of the 2024 Icelandic Championships in all men's and women's divisions, as well as the junior divisions, the cup competition, the European Games and the winter tournaments. The year's national games in all age groups are also well-detailed and special attention is paid to Icelandic footballers playing abroad.

The book contains detailed statistics about players and teams, including the team composition of all teams in all leagues in the men's and women's championships, the number of games played by players in the upper leagues, the men's and women's top scorers, the men's and women's top scorers and top scorers in league competitions here and abroad, and much more.

The book includes interviews with Ásta Eir Árnadóttir and Andri Rafn Yeoman, Icelandic women's and men's champions with Breiðablik, as well as with Hallgrím Mar Steingrímsson, a player on the cup-winning KA team, and Sævar Pétursson, KA's general manager.

This year the book is published with two covers. The cover of the traditional edition features pictures of the Icelandic and cup champions of Breiðablik in the men's and women's categories, and that edition is in general sale and distribution and is available in Eymundsson bookstores throughout the country. It can also be ordered, along with older books, on the Sögur Útgáfa website,  sogurutgafa.is, or by phone at 557 3100.

The special edition features a picture of KA's men's cup champions on the cover and the book is exclusively for sale at KA, but information is available on the club's website , www.ka.is.
