Emil Ásmundsson and Daði Ólafsson have extended their contracts with Fylkir. Emil's contract is for one year, while Daði's is for two years.
Emil, who will be 30 next year, has 167 appearances for Fylkir, 81 of which were in the top division. Emil has also played for KR and was on loan at Brighton in England from 2013-2016. Emil probably has the best goal ever scored at Fylkisvöllur when he cut the ball into the goalposts in a match against Grindavík in the Lengjudeild in 2022.
Daði, who will be 31 next year, has unfortunately been plagued by persistent injuries for the past two years and only played in two games last season. Daði has 208 games for Fylkir, 94 of which in the top division, and apart from a short loan spell with ÍR in 2016, has played his entire career in orange and was, among other things, the Pepsi League's top assist player in 2019.
This is great news for the club to secure the continued service of these players and they will be extremely valuable to the team in the upcoming season.
