The County's eSports Department will have a strong and renewed work in the new year in collaboration with the Esports Coaching Academy!
Esports are a great opportunity for young people to develop themselves as individuals and meet peers through the hobby of video games.
This spring, four training groups will be offered that cater to different ages, abilities and interests of young people. In the 8-10 and 10-13 year old Mix groups, the main focus is on forming social connections with peers through video games, trying new games and having fun. But in the Fortnite and 14-16 year old groups, there are more targeted exercises where practitioners work on improving themselves in a specific game. In all groups, there is physical exercise and practitioners learn about healthy gaming habits.
Practice times will be longer, allowing us to hold better and more comprehensive practices, with ample time for warm-ups, education, drills, and games. There will also be events such as tournaments, practice games, and social evenings throughout the semester, giving practitioners goals to work towards and opportunities to build friendships that extend beyond the computer screen.
With these changes, the Fylkir Esports Club is taking a big step towards high-quality esports that meets all the quality standards that esports stands for. With increased quality in its work, Fylkir will not only be a pioneer in increasing the quality of esports in Iceland, but also a model club to look up to in the growth of esports around the world.
Registration for the spring semester has started on Sportabler, and the training schedule will be published soon along with a training plan for each group.
Don't miss this opportunity in the exciting world of eSports, be part of a movement that is renewing the future of eSports.
